This weekend is a hands-on introduction to outdoor leadership, designed to help you build confidence, learn new skills, and develop a level of comfort in outdoor pursuits. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, interest, and a willingness to learn in community.
Examples of Skills and Competencies:
Fire Building • Ecological Literacy • Map and Compass • Land Navigation • Traditional Wildlife Tracking • Shelter and Tarp setup • Knots • Camp craft • Basic first aid • Bird Language
Registration Information:
Priority registration for our mailing list runs through March 31, 2026. General registration opens April 1. Space is limited—sign up early.
Leadership & Curriculum:
Drawing from their personal and professional experience, Kareem A. Dieng and Amy Martinez Beal bring lessons from the field into the “classroom.” Registered Maine Guide, Certified Wildlife Tracker, Wilderness First Responder, Outdoor Education Director, Social and Emotional Learning Facilitator, and Nature Awareness Practitioner—these are some of the perspectives that shape the flow and curriculum of this event, exposing participants to a dynamic range of outdoor and environmental education pathways to connect with.
